LITHOGRAPHY. 1st Premium, Diploma and $5; 2d Premium, Medal. Mr. John W. Schaerf of St. Louis, corner of Pine and Third streets, exhibited a very superior specimen, which took the first premium. It is termed THEOLOGIA CHRISTIANA, and represents the blessed Virgin, the Apostles, Evangelists, Doctors, Theologians, Saints, Popes, and eminent personnages of the Church, assembled in one group, somewhat after the manner and design of the "School of Athens" by Raphael. The production was highly creditable to the arts of St. Louis, and elicited warm commendation from every quarter. [P. 101.]
