Marine, in Oil.--The second premium, Medal, was awarded to an entry made by J. Theodore Kleinschmidt, St. Louis. It was a painting of the Steamer Adriatic, the most elegant and costly of all the ships formerly belonging to the famous Collins Line of Steamers. Both of the premium articles were fine specimens of marine painting. [Pp. 97-98; see entry 02490021 for other work noted in this commentary.]
