Miss Lizzie Dyer's rendering of an elaborate study of nature by that living and talented artist, McCallum, is a complete success. We trust that the taste for painting in water colors, a department of art so well adapted to the ladies, will be developed in our state. This painting of the "English Church" may serve as a suggestion of what may be accomplished in our midst and in our New England homes. Miss Dyer's studies of Autumn leaves are remarkable imitations of nature. [P. 28; exhibited under heading: "The Works of Resident Artists."]
