Vigorous, but overwrought. Likeness lost by laboring too much. Notwithstanding this, a common fault with the zealous and faithful, the style is determined, the handling, coloring and general treatment, very good for so young an artist. To the foregoing collection, by Mr. C. was awarded--A SILVER MEDAL.
