Appears in exhibition catalog as entry no. 9
18 x 12. Doe fondling over two fawns, while the fatherly Buck, in the background, keeps sentinel over his "house and heart." Mr. Tait must have led a loving life in the woods, to thus interpret its stories. Few paintings possess more varied merit of drawing, color, surroundings and language, than Mr. Tait's contributions to our collection. [P. 56.]
