20 x 26. The artist has accomplished a difficult subject, with success. It is a night scene in the market. Candles conspire with the moon to brighten up the scene, with singular effect. Unmistakably the work of a master hand. [P. 60.]
Catalogue of Premiums. The following large and valuable Collection of Paintings, Statuary, Bronzes, &c., comprises the premiums to be awarded to the subscribers of the Cosmopolitan Art Association whose subscriptions are received previous to the 28th of January, 1858, at which time the Annual Award will be made.
