It is tempting indeed. A maiden of seventeen sits, holding up to gaze, with a coquettish grace, bunches of grapes. Upon her lap is a plate of the fruit. On side table are melons, apples, &c. It is hardly possible for color to reproduce still life more perfectly. [P. 58.]
Catalogue of Premiums. The following large and valuable Collection of Paintings, Statuary, Bronzes, &c., comprises the premiums to be awarded to the subscribers of the Cosmopolitan Art Association whose subscriptions are received previous to the 28th of January, 1858, at which time the Annual Award will be made.
