27 x 34. A poor widow and her children have been burned out of house and home. Seated on a chest, with household furniture, she seems in deep trouble. A hydrant with hose attached, and firemen are seen in the distance. [P. 23; exhibited under heading: "Oil Paintings in Rich Gilt Frames."]
