This picture of Daniel Boone was painted by Chester Harding, who went to Missouri some forty years ago to paint an original picture of Daniel Boone. This picture was then brought to Lexington, Ky., where it came into the possession of Thomas Smith, of Lexington, and it has been in the possession of Mrs. Thomas Smith ever since. [P. 44; exhibited in the "Ladies' Department" under heading: "Household Art."]
