In the department of Ambrotypes, Sphereotypes, Melainotypes, &c., we consider that those in Harris' collection possess more strength of light and shade, and depth of tone, while those by the Websters are superior in point of delicacy. In Daguerreotypes, the same remarks apply. We consider, however, that the qualities of strength of light and shade, and depth of tone, give a decided superiority to the Daguerreotype. Yet, in this respect, tastes differ; each variety finds plenty of admirers. [P. 46.]
