Born at the Hague, 1803; died 1865. Waldorp is called by the connoisseurs the "Prince of the Modern Dutch School," and we have here a fine specimen of his well-known talent. He is said to have approached more closely to Backhuyzen and Van de Velde than any other modern master. [P. 18.]
