"Sunset in Nova-Scotia, and . . . island seem a couple of fantasies embodied. The poor figures in the latter add little to the painter's fame." [P. 35; see serial 02280031 for other picture described above. Ellipses represent one or two words which are illegible in copy. This sentence was a continuation of that in serial 02280030, and, hence, the pictures have been attributed to Lieut. Ford, given as the artist of this previous entry.]
