Exhibition Catalogs
Date:
1876
Notes:
Appears in exhibition catalog as entry no. 61
This noble picture represents an incident in the early history of the Great West, when the emigrants, floating down the rivers, sought a home. This is the Sabbath day, and they are keeping it holy by religious service. Each figure in the group has a story of its own to tell, and the whole make up an eloquent incident in the history of the West. [P. 8.]
