This picture gives another view and a different artist's idea of the region of Tyrol, and, like Church's Heart of the Andes, will bear the closest scrutiny in all its parts. Its foliage, earth, water, and skies are wonderfully real. The foreground is remarkably beautiful in coloring and effect, outvying, in fact, that of the upper part of the picture, which presents a perfection of detail that is equaled by the perfection of the whole.
