King's Lake, near Bergdesgaden, (painting)

Artist:
Wenor
Type:
Paintings
Exhibition Catalogs
Date:
1876
Notes:
Appears in exhibition catalog as entry no. 88 (Sale info: $1800.00).
The depth of color imparted to the water by the overshadowing mountains, contrasted with the rich glow of the sun-gilded, snow-capped peaks, constitute the charm which Wenor has conveyed on this canvas. His picture is another artistic tribute to the sublime and beautiful in nature, which only needs such skillful interpreters to come home to the understanding and appreciation of the most indifferent beholder. [Pp. 22-23.]
