Notes:
Appears in exhibition catalog as entry no. 68 (Sale info: $400.00).
A stag, with a pack of hounds in full cry hard upon its heels, and the huntsmen coming in sight, give a very spirited and faithful picture seldom seen outside the canvas of a specialist, but always welcome to the lover of field sports. This picture is exceedingly faithful to our ideas and what we have read of the sport, and it will wear as well as any of Landseer's productions. [P. 16.]
