A patriot of the American Revolution, was born in South Carolina in 1724. In 1765, he was a member of the Congress which convened at New York, and again of that which assembled in 1774. He was elected Governor of the State of South Caroline, in 1782, but declined on account of the infirmities of age. He died in 1805, aged 81 years. [P. 10.]
