One of the signers of the Declaration of Independence, was born in Westmoreland County, Virginia, January 20, 1732. He was a member of the leading committees of the Continental Congress which met in Philadelphia, September 5, 1774, to prepare an address to the people of Britain, to the King, and to the Colonies. He died at Chantilly, Westmoreland County, Virginia, June 19, 1794, aged 64 years. [P. 7.]
