The Poor Weavers of Silesia and their Employers, (painting)
Appears in exhibition catalog as entry no. 55
"When this picture was finished it was sent to Berlin for exhib- ition. It there created so much excitement that the police had to order it from sight. It sufficiently tells its own story. It is hood's 'Song of the Shirt,' with a German interpretation. Hard-faced employers may well wish such 'living exemplifica- tions' out of sight." [P. 7.]
