1876
Notes:
Appears in exhibition catalog as entry no. 17 (Sale info: For Sale).
Native of Lyons. Medals, 1844, 1857, 1859 and 1863. There is a covert shift in this episode of married life. The story is not difficult to read. Perhaps there has been a little temporary variance between the courtly couple strolling through the grove. The sight of the sculptured cupid on the fountain is suggestive to the lady, who unconsciously thinks "Pauvre Amour%" [P. 5.]
