The painter has depicted one of the convulsions of nature in the East. The caravan has been overtaken by the rising sweep of a simoom. The horses are starting with affright, and the camels have already thrust their nostrils into the earth to protect them from the sweeping sand. It is grandly illustrative of a scene never before painted, and may lay claim to consideration as unique. [P. 11.]
