Prize No. 8. Gignoux's Magnificent Landscape, entitled "Alpine Scenery." Valued at Three Thousand Dollars. This is one of the AlPine landscapes of which Regis Gignoux has so fully caught the inspiration. Studying the mountains with the poetic eye of a great landscape painter, it is now in this class of landscape that he most efficiently displays his power, and produces paintings as original in character as they are sensuously beautiful in their tone and handling.
