"We are pleased to see a considerable portion of pain has been taken with this to finish it in a style worthy of public exhib- ition." [P. 299; Gottesman adds in footnote:] "The Worcester Art Museum has a mezzotint of David Rittenhouse by Edward Savage after a painting by Charles Willson Peale. In the Philadelphia Gazette of the United States, December 29, 1796, Edward Savage advertised that the print of David Rittenhouse was ready for sale. The Princeton University library copy is reproduced in its publication of Howard C. Rice, Jr., the Rittenhouse orrery (1954)." [P. 299.]
