"RUBENS, (Peter Paul. No. 82.--THE RESURRECTION OF CHRIST. This is a very fine picture, and in a very good state of preservation. It is in the best period of the master, and might vie with many of his works in the Gallery of Munich. The face of the Saviour is truly sublime. Another by Rubens is No. 72. [P. 54; see entry 01630072 for other work noted in this commentary. The words "best period" appear in italics in the catalogue.]
