"NEEFS (Peter), called the Old.--Called the Old.--Born at Antwerp in 1570; he died in 1651. He painted the interior views of convents and churches. He was thoroughly skilled in perspective, and described the rich decorations, and every architectural order, with such neatness of pencilling, truth of patience, as render them objects of wonder rather than imitation." No. 18.--INTERIOR OF A CHURCH--on panel--A highly-finished gem, and in a perfect state of preservation. [P. 36.]
