"RUISDAEL, (Solomon,)--born at Haerlem in 1616; he died in 1670. He was a good painter of landscapes, but was, in every respect, inferior to his brother Jacob." No. 1.--A RICH LANDSCAPE AND RIVER SCENE.--This is a very good specimen of the master, in a very good state of preservation, and true to nature. [P. 31.]
