"Franck, (Francis,) called the Young, born at Antwerp, in 1580, went to Venice and there perfected his knowledge of colouring. While in that country he took a pleasure in representing the humours of the Carnival, and other scenes of a like description. His pencilling is neat, colour clear and transparent, and he sometimes painted upon a leaf gold ground." No. 22.--Adoration of the Magi--on panel--a very fine specimen of colouring and finish.
