Exhibition Catalogs
Date:
1876
Notes:
Appears in exhibition catalog as entry no. 73
When this picture was finished it was sent to Berlin for exhibition. It there created so much excitement that the police had to order it from sight. It sufficiently tells its own story. It is Hood's "Song of the Shirt," with a German interpretation. Hard-faced employers may wish such "living exemplifications" from sight. [P. 26.]
