Dutch Seacoast--Shipping in the Offing, (painting)

Artist:
Auchenbach, And.
Type:
Paintings
Exhibition Catalogs
Date:
1876
Notes:
Appears in exhibition catalog as entry no. 166
Every picture by this artist is a study. The sea is here such as only the painter of No. 54 could reproduce. There is little in the subject itself to attract attention, but the painting, nevertheless, is highly pleasing. The groups of fishermen and women awaiting the coming in of the boats are done in great detail, and give much to the whole. [P. 24.]
