Henry VIII. and Anne Boleyn, (painting)

Artist:
Leutze
Subject:
Henry VIII
Boleyn, Anne
Type:
Paintings
Exhibition Catalogs
Date:
1876
Notes:
Appears in exhibition catalog as entry no. 28
This is one of Leutze's minor compositions. The coloring is fine, and the management of the lights and shades very effective. The many-wived monarch is enjoying, in privacy, the society of his loving Anne Boleyn, whose ill-starred life was to end upon the scaffold by order of her Royal husband. Both faces are portraits. [P. 18.]
