John Trumbull, P.A.A. We add here to the brief biography of Col. Trumbull, at No. 106, that he returned home after the establishment of the federal government, and went again to Europe as secretary to Mr. Jay's embassy. He afterwards served as a commissioner in the treaty formed by that great man. Col. Trumbull finally returned to America in 1816. [Pp. 24-25; see entry 01510105 for the artist's biography noted in this commentary.]
