In the second picture these same matters have evidently progressed considerably, and not only has the Mamma become alarmed, but the Father Confessor has made a discovery in the young lady's missal, which appears anything but agreeable to her. She tries to weather the storm by assumed indifference and coolness, but there lurks beneath these an expression that betokens anxiety and the vicinity of tears.
