Exhibition Catalogs
Date:
1876
Notes:
Appears in exhibition catalog as entry no. 231 (Sale info: For Sale).
The painter has brought before us, in this picture, two children, who, while picking strawberries in the woods have lost their way. Tired and frightened, they have seated themselves under a tree to rest. The older sister is soothing and comforting her little brother, and tries to wipe his fast falling tears. A few streaks of light here and there, show that the little wanderers are not far from the edge of the wood, and will soon come upon the right path again.
