Pupil of Drolling, Boisselier and Horace Vernet; received the third class medal (landscape), 1843; the second class medal, 1853; honorably mentioned at the Universal Exhibition, 1855; received the first class medal, 1857. [P. 10; price and the words "Bot S. Folis" noted by a contemporary hand.]
