[Entries 01060200, 01060201, 01060202, 01060203, 01060204, 01060205, 01060207, and 01060208 were preceded by a note stating that the works were made by members of the Royal Academy who joined together socially to cultivate artistic pastimes. At weekly meetings, held from November until May, a "President for the evening," was chosen to select a subject for each member to draw. The drawings then produced became his property. The members were A.E. Chalon, J.J. Chalon, Joshua Cristall, C.R. Leslie, J. Partridge, C. Stanfield, S.J. Stump, T. Uwins. The note also states that for entries 01060200, 01060201, and 01060202, "Milton's L'Allegro" was the subject, with each work illustrating a different verse. For entries 01060203, 01060204, 01060205, 01060206, and 01060207, the works all illustrated the verses from "L'Allegro:" "And doth not a meeting like this amends/ For all the long years I've been wandering away."]
