The mountain of Shasta is the highest peak of Northern California, and rises to the elevation of 14,440 feet. It is an extinct volcano, and stands midway between the Coast range and Pitt mountains. This picture was exhibited in the art hall of the Vienna Exposition. [P. 40; exhibited under heading: "Oil Paintings." The designation "C.A." appears after the name of the artist in the catalogue.]
