(Probably some of the Monikin family.) (On canvass--length 10 1/2 inches, breadth 8 1/2 inches.) "Lady Augusta Coventry, now Lady Augusta Fox, painted this copy of a Flemish painting which she had bought in Rome, under the direction of Signor Raffaele Carelli in Naples, and presented it the Archbishop of Taranto, in 1833."--One of thsoe practical jokes on the subject of his cats, which he enjoys equally with his friends. [P. 40; exhibited under heading: "Living Painters of Various Nations."]
Catalogue of the Pictures which formed the collection of Joseph Capece Latro, ancient Archbishop of Taranto, &c. in the Kingdom of Naples now exhibited in the City Dispensary, in White Street, for the benefit of that Charitable Institution. New York, October, 1835.
