David Bethuel Jamieson (1963-1992) was born at Saint Elizabeths Hospital, where both of his parents were hospitalized. David was raised in foster homes in DC and studied art in Vermont and New York. David devoted his life to the production of art. His vast and diverse body of work supported him and encouraged others to work with the intensity he brought to his creations. Public collections include the Provincetown Art Association and Museum, Blundell House Collection at the University of Vermont, The Evans-Tibbs Collection at The Corcoran Gallery of Art, The Robert Hull Fleming Museum, and The Carter G. Woodson Institute for Afro American and African Studies at the University of Virginia.
An exhibition on his works are on display at Saint Elizabeths Hospital starting on September 4, 2013. Several of the works bought by Mr. Stebbins were owned by Carol Taylor of Provincetown, Vermont.
