Not much can be determined about the history of this personalized briefcase. It seems a distinct possibility that it might have been given to Dr. turner as a gift by someone, such as an admirer of his work, or perhaps in appreciation of his scholarly efforts. It is not known when or where Dr. Turner acquired this briefcase, but there is ample evidence of his having used it, as there are wear marks throughout, including paperclip scars on the outside rear pocket. At the current time, the handle has separated from the body of the case. It has not been determined whether this briefcase was custom-made for Dr. Truner, or if it was merely personalized with his name.
