Farm scene quilt by Carmel Washington.
Daughters of Dorcas and Sons are a Washington, DC quilting group, which formed in the 1970s. These creative and diverse African American quilters reflect traditional and contemporary styles in their work. In addition, the members participate in a variety of community projects, such as the Comfort Quilts donation program for St. Ann's Infant and Maternity Home and the Hospital for Sick Children, as well as teaching quilt making to inner-city youth.
