Linda Spencer is a coach and once-star athlete at Howard University. She was the captain of the school's first ever women's basketball team in 1973. She graduated in 1975 and has been prominant in Howard University's coaching staff. She has been the assistant coach for the women's basketball team that won 10 MEAC championships and earned a berth to the NCAA Tournament in 1982. Additionally, she serves as the head coach of the women's volleyball team, winning five MEAC Coach of the Year awards in the five seasons that Howard won the MEAC championship. In 2014, she was inducted into the Howard University 2014 Athletic Hall of Fame.
