Quiltmaker and textile artist Marla A. Jackson is the owner of Marla Quilt's Inc. African American Museum and Textile Academy in Lawrence, Kansas. She has taught hundreds of students how to design and illustrate African American stories through quiltmaking. Jackson also serves on the Board of Directors of the Women of Colour Quilters Network. Her work has been exhibited in more than 32 venues.
