Description:
Roy LaGrone (1966-) considers the collage, computer technology, and improvised forms integral to his two- and three-dimensional works. Many of the themes
are traditional. However, LaGrone employs the latest techniques to fashion his unique offerings. His latest animated shorts reflect his growing interest in digital photography and serve to engage and move the senses to new heights. These artworks by Roy LaGrone, Jr. were donated to the museums by the Acacia Collection after their exhibition at the Anacostia Museum, "New Visions: Emerging Trends in African American Art" July 2003- March 2004.
Carroll Greene is a founding board member, curator and executive director of collections for Acacia Historical Arts International.
