23 loose p. Pages numbered lower right from 1-30, pages 3, 5-6, 8-10, 26 are no longer in the compilation. Most of the sketches appear to be of completed works of art, with dates and dimensions, 1942-1947, and figure studies, in graphite, pen and ink wash. There are also anatomical studies in pen in which Marsh refers to [Arthur] Thomson [A handbook of anatomy for art students]; [George B.] Bridgeman, Constructive anatomy; and [Johannes] Sobotta [Atlas of human anatomy]. Condition: Both front and back cover intact, but dirty and worn. All pages are three-holed punched and were probably originally kept in a small, three-ring binder.
Sketchbook No. 27, 14 July 1942-2 Nov 1947. Reginald Marsh papers, 1897-1955. Archives of American Art, Smithsonian Institution.
