Identification on accompanying label (typewritten): Louis Arenal, WPA artist, and his assistant, left, working on their mural, "North American Tropical Vegetation," which they have just completed on the walls of the First Lobby Stairway of the Psychiatric Building at Bellevue Hospital. The mural was executed under the direction of the WPA Federal Art Project.
