Homer with straw hat. Several versions in different sizes and mounts are included.
Inscription lower left: "Winslow Homer".
Identification on accompanying label (typewritten): Winslow Homer (1836-1910). Homer retained throughout his life an interest in the play of light on water and structures, but never went as far as the Impressionists in shattering solids. The contest between man and the forces of nature inspired his later work.
