Identification on verso (handwritten, pencil): January 1902; 24 yrs old at this time Shows Aitken in the studio seated at the base of the figure, working on her leg. The "Winged Victory" figure would top off the naval monument known as the Dewey Monument in San Francisco's Union Square.
