Several loose pages, including 3 sketches, at beginning of book.
Date derived from handwritten note on cover: record of my work 1916, 1917, 1918.
However, an early page of the diary is dated Sept. 1915.
Diary entries are in English and German. Bluemner describes in detail his methods of painting and use of color, with asides on art history. Includes many sketches of buildings and landscapes, mostly charcoal, some in color.
