Pène du Bois describes an encounter with a General who praised the work of illustrator Floyd Davis in Life magazine, presumably comparing it with Pène du Bois' own illustration work. First page includes an illustration of Pène du Bois with a large palette, standing at an easel and painting the words "Dear Jane" in red. Second page is written over a background of the words "I love you" repeatedly typewritten in red ink.
