Summary:
Brief note from Church reads: This is a photo of [a] painting I gave to the fund for the Relief of discharged employees of the Stock Exchange. It brot [sic] $500.
The photo depicts a painting of a family of bears, and is annotated in pen: Mother's return, copyright F. S. Church.
The letter is also illustrated with an ink sketch of two bears, one playing the banjo and the other dancing.
Provenance:
Donated 1966 by Cummer Gallery of Art, Jacksonville, Fla., who received it from "a lady in Jacksonville."
